It gets maps from Google maps; if Google maps doesn't give correct routes wherever you are, it won't work. Talk to Google, if this is the case.

Using your external GPS device is recommended. If it supports BlueTooth you'll be fine. The reason for this is that the N810's internal GPS device doesn't work very well. For example, it is widely documented that it takes a long time till it has a lock (minutes), and in my experience it also often never gets a lock nor does it keep lock once it finally has a lock. In short: I can't count on it. Probably because I live in rural area. At best, its useful as a fallback feature. You can try it out for yourself, and see if you also (or instead) need your external GPS device.

the internal gps seems to function well always get a lock really fast almost 1 minute and have 9 satellite in use every time the problems seems to be the maps in self is like google didn't make an accurate map or maybe i did something wrong in the setting

i will test the accuracy of the internal gps, with the coordinate that generate the internal with the coordinate that generate a Magellan that i have.

One thought; Maemo Mapper has a calibration feature, where if maps are a little offset, you can select the point on the map corresponding to your current location, and set the offset. Try long-pressing on the map; you should get a pop-up menu with Tap point, under which there should be Apply Map Correction; make sure that's unchecked.

Not sure where you got that idea. I have used routing in the default Map application with no internet connection.

I think he got it from the thread title; you see where it says "Maemo Mapper"? ;)

I did, but the post I quoted seemed more generic... like he was saying the device couldn't do routing unless it was connected to the internet.

But if that was an interpretation error on my part, mea culpa.
