Just need to know if the NOKIA n900 us version will work in the UK since I am moving there

I used the same n900 in the USA and Middle East. it's a dual mode phone. It should work in the UK and USA without problems.

I could not get it to work in Pakistan which i assumed was a different network.

so then what is the difference between the US version and the other version(s)? the one i bought said its the US version :|

Yes it will.
I had mine imported from the US and it works in Cyprus. Same bands as the UK and the rest of Europe, so you are good to go.
Also as far as I know N900 was only made with one RM code so no different variants exist as far as the frequencies are concerned.

The region codes are a different matter and have to do with regional settings like hardware keyboard characters.
And also unlike most other Nokia, SE and other brands you can flash any region firmware on yours and be done with it (that it using only the stock cable and flasher).
For any other phone on the market today that's a HUGE PAIN in the @@S.

i dont know much about this stuff..what do you mean when you say flash any region firmware? and where would I find the firmware?

To strap this down... there is only one type of N900, differences from firmware side can be eliminated with a reflash. Firmware discussion goes in another thread.
