Yes, that's what I was looking for. I suppose all "real" GPS navigation softwares uses interpolation and tries to guess where you were between those location-burses the gps gives you?

But with eCoach the interval is several seconds, so I guess it would be possible to tune it to receive the signal from gps more often?

There is a setting in the settings view for GPS update interval.

Update interval-setting isn't for heart rate monitoring device? For me it doesn't seem to have any effect on gps...

I just looked and it specifically says GPS on the interval-setting.

On another note, is there a manual or instructions somewhere for ecoach. I've tried to get it to work a couple times but have been unsuccesful. I hit record, but there is no track made when I'm done and hit record again. Is there supposed to be anything in the Data field when recording and moving?

Same problem here but I was under the impression thats because I did not have a data connection at all times.

Figured out my problem. I didn't have the GPS enabled in the phones general settings. Doh!

Hey

There seems to be a bug...user cannot properly use eCoach without network connection because the map engine will keep asking for data connection even the current maptile is already downloaded.

I will have to take a look at this. (I actually never used my N900 & eCoach without data connection :) )

This is problematic for me as there is no network (read cellular) connectivity in most of the parks I am running nearby my place. This kind of spotty cell coverage is most unheard of in Europe (or in Finland) but pretty commonplace in U.S. - even on the hills surrounding Silicon Valley...

I would buy N900 just for this app! I love cycling and this app helps me a lot.
Well you can't store maps offline but what I do is before I go out, I usually know where I will be cycling around. I open ecoach at home where i have wifi connection and I scroll the map around places I will go to. This loads map parts that will be used later. Of course program is keep asking for network connection when you out there, but at least it also displays where I am and map that has been downloaded in advance.
It's not ideal but its working for me and regards to the author!

A quick ?

How do you save the data to the activity log? I can't see anyway to do it.

Thanks

Its not a bad idea but the problem is that it will record the stuff that is not part of my ride and mess up the tracking and statistics, unless you mean you do not have to press the record button until you start riding and only have to open ecoach while still in wifi.
