Re: 770 for music

worth a try. but if music is a big concern, I would just run the os off the int. mem. May not be as responsive as running off the card, but at least you'll have tunes :)

that is what I do, it is not really fast, but is still load music faster than my bosses 600+ HTC Touch that is smaller and runs M$ :p

Re: 770 for music

This might sound like a silly question, but if you are streaming at home through your wireless network, your isps upload bandwidth shouldn't matter, right? I mean, the two machines (770 and media server) are communicating on an internal network, no?

yes, if you're streaming directly from your server machine to the 770, it won't effect your isp bandwigth at all.

Your isp bandwidth won't matter just the network bandwidth. For music on a local network you really dont have to worry. Streaming video can *sometimes* be an issue, but I'm not talking about the tablets in that respect, just bandwidth over wifi in general.

What UPnP media servers are you all using. On device Nokia's Media Stremer is ofcoure the solution, but what about the server side?

How about SimpleCenter 4? Will Basic transcode DivXs?

I have been messing with tversity but have had issues with it. I know others have used it and liked it

Tversity UPnP for Nokia 770 Server.

Tversity sounds like a great solution, but what video codes should I set for N770? MP3's went through greatly.
:)

Re: 770 for music

well, TVersity 0.9.10.7 seemd like a good idea, but it had one major stopping bug: audio/video material can't be from UNC address or Mappd Drive, so that's that then.

What other commercial / non commercial UPnP media servers are there to test?
