Re: Mail for Exchange features on N900

Other features i'm looking for would be:
- define different Filter and associate separate Profiles with Mail (especially Mail for Exchange). Currently, the phone will "ring" on every email, even if it gets sorted into a Folder !inbox on the serverside.
Step 1 would be: Only notify on new email in Folder "X".
Even better would be: Only notify on email matching Filter "y" (Sender, subject, etc..).

Also, for the MfE Folder Overview, if you have a lot of Folder it can be very cumbersome to get through it. Is there a way to instead work with expandable trees?

Slow isn't the word. Mine often takes >2 minutes to do a manual sync over WLAN or 3G (with no changes - even immediately after the last sync.)

Then opening up the mail app and tapping on MfE, wait >20s for the Inbox folder and counter to appear.

Tap on the Inbox and wait another 10s for the message list to appear.

Same delays with AS set to constant connection.

It always displays the spinning wheel as if it's trying to sync before it will display any message count or message list - as if nothing is cached locally?

Practically makes the app unusable for work - I've had to go back to my N97.

No such problems with the Symbian version, even on a lowly E61.

Latest fw and Exch 2007 BTW.

So is anyone able to sync their other exchange calendars from the same exchange account? This would be very helpful to me, I have "personal," "meetings" etc calendars.

No, MfE (currently) only supports a single calendar. Every other implementation I've used has done the same, so I'm not sure whether or not the protocol allows for multiple calendars.

This is the MfEFolders app? Last I read, he was trying to find a tree view he could use - there didn't seem to be one in the standard widget set though.

Looks like it's failing to read the configuration settings. You may be best deleting & recreating the MfE configuration from scratch.

my guess is that you need to reimport your server's certificates, which very likely have been renewed during the upgrade.

here's
a post from someone with the same error messages ("unable to read string value"), and updating the certificates seemed to have eliminated that specific problem for him (though he did have other issues after that).

deleting and recreating the MfE account on the N900 as rob1n suggested might solve the certificate issue.

No. It is not.

Thank you for the idea. I have informed our UI guys about it.
