same thing with N9..
should see it as a collector edition!

all those post are not stopping me from buying an N9!!

Symbian ?! really ?! i remember how bad on my N8 and E7 i had to live with it and cry when it freezes and lags :s
maybe on a Quad-core! lol

i dont know what is surprising here, many people here dont like n9 as its concept is completly different than that of real maemo devices, its just a phone

and as it is just a phone and not a mobile computer, symbian is a better choice as it is stil the best smartphone OS, symbian is stil actively developed and is certanly not the past yet
just look at 808, i would choose it over n9 any day(and you need to understand that i am a gnu/linux fanboy when it comes to OS preference), but wouldnt switch my n900 for it

Good to know. I may eventually end up getting the N9 too. It is an unique piece of equipment after all, and these are two quite different phones, so there shouldn't be problems finding use for both (the reason it was a hard decision is I have needs that are mutually exclusive, no single phone will be perfect for me anyway).

My fiancee has the E7 (symbian equivalent of the N900?) and every time I use it I try to swipe. Same with my mothers Android thing.

The N9 is a choice, and people are divided. I think it suits people who had/have a N900 and love the community, the openness, better quality apps, etc. It most likely wont suit serious hackers and developers but average power users will love it. If you can like without the hardware keyboard, that is.

i have n900 and have no inention of buying n9 since it does not offer anything over n900, but has flaws compared to it

I'm using both phones right now (the 701 is borrowed) but my main phone is the N9. Like someone said, the device is addictive. It has a lot more power than 701, and while the 701 is a pretty decent phone with a proven OS, N9 is always my go to device for everything - mail, gtalk, skype, twitter, FB... There are enough apps coming with the device out of the box and there are over 1000 apps in the market now. Pretty much everything you need, if you're not a fan of fart apps :)

I was hesitating whether to buy an N9 or N900 some time ago, but I decided for N9 due to its newer hardware and better construction. Although Harmattan is not as open as Maemo5, the N9 itself is. So if Nokia doesn't release source codes of the main apps by the end of support, they can be rewritten, or you can just switch to mer or anything you want ;)

Thank you for sharing all of your thoughts and comments. I think I would go for a long run so that I decided to go for N9. Yet, I'm still haggling between two phones because I don't know if my decision is right. If I have enough money, I would like to get both. But I can buy only one for now because of my budget situation.

Do you think N9 is good for long run than 701? Any idea?
However, this should be my last question that I want to know.
