Same here , swipe ui is so addictive , now my reflexes tries to swipe on every touch-screen phone , and when I realize it doesn't work I feel like I turned back from touchscreen to keypad . :D

I needed a new device (other than my N900) with a hardware keyboard primarily for email. I ended up ordering an E7 for $340. The E7 does have some drawbacks being fixed memory and battery and smaller processor, but my expectations are not so demanding for this particular device.

The N9 is still on my list. But the 808 could be a possibility depending how I like the E7. N9 prices are becoming more reasonable. It will be a while yet before 808 prices are in the same range.

If the 701 and 64GB N9 were the same price I wouldn't hesitate to try the N9. At today's price I might seriously consider the 808.

How about this - get the N9, one and only Meego. Save some money & get the Nokia 808 when it's out - runs on Symbian Belle too but with great camera.:D

Meego will be exactly like N900 soon, all comunity based. If you like that go for the N9, many linux tools for server management :) if you like the symbian app thing go for symbian, they have a more company-based app structure rather than comunity-based structure I believe :D

I am a linux geek so I am quite biased, but base your purchase on previous experience, Meego is pretty much Maemo 6 + Intel people I believe so if you liked the software and comunity driven style on the N900 go for the N9, else for the 701 :)

EDIT: BTW I do not have an N9, only an N900 :) I am not SO biased ;)

Thank you very much for your advice. With your opinion and others' comments, I think I would get N9 first and wait for 808. Thank you again the info. :rolleyes:

keep the n900 as its great for server and sys work and get 701 as its great for multimedia and telephony, n9 does alot of things but isnt great at anything

this combo will surpass n9 at every task and is cheaper than n9(at least here in croatia)

If you already have an N900, the N9 would seem to be a waste of money for this type of use case.

While they're not available in abundance, there are a few sources of N9 batteries, I even corresponded with one company that was in Germany where they spoke in english via email for me(website wasn't english).
