Nokia to close London Regent Street Flagship Store
To begin with...
The reason I am posting this here is because several people have got their N900s from the NFS in Regent Street. This will affect where they can go for warranty repairs & information etc. Nokia to Close London Flagship Store |
Re: Nokia to close London Regent Street Flagship Store
Not particularly surprising given the global economic downturn... a bummer though. hope they don't close the NYC flagship, since that's where I got my n900 from.

Re: Nokia to close London Regent Street Flagship Store
The rent on the NYC flagship must be pretty high. Also the layout of the store isn't that great. I bet 80% of the customers never walk to the second floor yet its about 50% of the overrall space! It opened during the boom so it was probably the best space/layout they could get at the time...
The place seems way overstaffed also... |
Re: Nokia to close London Regent Street Flagship Store
I ordered my N900 from there about 2.5hrs ago. GREAT.
Any idea who will be responsible for repairs/warranty if one of the many hardware bugs happens to affect me? |

Edit: I ended up repairing the N810 myself, as I couldn't be bothered sending it away for a couple of weeks. |

Re: Nokia to close London Regent Street Flagship Store
I wished they'd close them all and open smaller stores in more major cities. Like the Best But Mobile stores in the malls. We in the US need more exposure, not a showcase in two cities. Dallas-Fort Worth, LA, Silicon Valley, Seattle, Miami, Atlanta, Boston, Austin, and other cities need stores, too.

Re: Nokia to close London Regent Street Flagship Store
That London store had a rep for bad customer service. So I'm not surprised, but maybe they should sacked the manager and not closed the store.

Re: Nokia to close London Regent Street Flagship Store
Pretty surprising i have to say. it's not like those flagship stores could be huge burden for Nokia, but then i do agree that pretty much all around the globe expect in North America the flagship stores don't really have much of purpose other than showing the devices and at least should be good customer service.
At least in here Helsinki flagship store dosen't mean much. Other than maybe some random russians buying Vertu phones from there :) People might just test the phones there and then go 1km away to Verkkokauppa.com and buy the device 20% cheaper. |

It's things like this that make some people question Nokia's understanding of mindshare...

Re: Nokia to close London Regent Street Flagship Store
More so TexRat when you consider an Apple store is in visual range of the Regent Street site, packed with customers and with excellent customer service.
