Ovi Store not working
Hello there!
I've updated my US N900 with the global firmware (since I live in Brazil, I thought this firmware would be more suited for me). But now the Ovi Store is not working, tells me to update my device using the App Manager. Is this happening because of the global firmware? I'm about to reflash it with the US firmware, but I prefer not to pass through the hassle of downloading and reinstalling all the apps again if I don't have to, or if it won't fix anything. So any idea of what's happening? |
Re: Ovi Store not working
I had the same problem. I had to disable Hide User Agent in Settings and it started working.

But I thought that the Ovi Store now had some paid apps, but I could'nt find any... ow boy, the wait continues... |
Re: Ovi Store not working
I have the same problem - but I don't have Hide User Agent.
I can browse the Ovi store, but "Preparing for installation, please wait" stops around half way. I can di & install fine from maemo.org & extras & devel - just not ovi. The most annoying part is I uninstalled Angry Birds & Bounce to be able to upgrade to 1.2 OTA, now these are the only things I can't re-install. |
Re: Ovi Store not working
I really don't think you should be worried about the Ovi store when Nokia are sitting on their backsides regarding the upgrade to that anyway.

I flashed my N900 again with a different image and still I can't get into Ovi Store. I don't have agent or any software loaded either. |

It is working now for me after I removed the Custom User Agent. Many thanks Descalzo.

Re: Ovi Store not working
This is what I keep getting:
"Unable to download 'offscr-airport'. Application package not found." I have no "User Agents" I think I need to make a new Application catalogue with the proper addresses / settings for Ovi, Nokia Applications and Nokia System Software Updates, as these are the three catalogues that do not update. |
Re: Ovi Store not working
Fixed!!!
I fixed it by disabling the Ovi catalogue in Application Manager, going to the Ovi store & letting the Application Manager re-Install the Ovi Catalogue. I hope this helps someone else. |
Re: Ovi Store not working
Not fixed!
while I did get ovi store working, it was over the network where I did the OTA update. It appears that I can only access ovi via that particular network; which is NOT my home network. Any ideas on why? or how I can change it to my home network? Thanks Arthur |
Re: Ovi Store not working
still can't get into ovi stor on N900. Haven't got hideuseragent app installed that I can see. At least it doesn't appear when I view apps to uninstall in app manager.
Have tried in default browser and Opera - still says device not supported. anyone??? |
Re: Ovi Store not working
fixed
The only way I could do this was to actually install 'hideuseragent' app. Then I set the agent to the following which I found on another thread. Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux armv7l; en-GB; rv:1.9.2b6pre) Gecko/20100318 Firefox/3.5 Maemo Browser 1.7.4.8 RX-51 N900 then hey presto! It worked for me. |
