N900 SIP Phone on Cisco CUCM
Its my first post I love my N900 but I did not find anything on the internet about N900 being registered to a CUCM as a SIP phone so I did it and here is how I did if somebody is interested.
On the CUCM. 1. Add a End-user (or use an LDAP user if CUCM i connected to LDAP) Use your standard User settings. 2. Add a phone Device - Phone - +Add New - Phone Type = Third-party SIP Device (Basic), Next 3. MAC Address* = Any MAC Not used or the N900 MAC Address (Settings/About product) 4. Use your default phone settings. 5. Digest User = Select the Digest user (see above). 6. Add directory number and use your default CUCM settings. 7. Click Save and Apply config. On the N900 1. Go to setttings - VoIP and IM accounts - New 2. Select SIP 3. Username = phone number@CUCM_IPADDRESS (I used the publishers IP) 4. Password = does not matter just put something 5. Click Advanced settings 6. Username (digest user see above) 7. Outbound proxy = CUCM_IPADDRESS (I used the publishers IP) 8. All other settings default and click Done For me I use the MAC adress of the N900 and I associate the phone to the user it is just nicer but you dont have to. Its also strange that the password does not have to be correct but I did that but as I said you dont have to. |

Re: N900 SIP Phone on Cisco CUCM
I have a N800 registered in our CUCM and if you use a Third-Party Sip Phone Advanced, video calls will get through between the N800 camera and a Cisco VT Advantage.

Re: N900 SIP Phone on Cisco CUCM
I've done everything that you mention yet the phone will not connect. I select sign in, it tries and then nothing.
N900 Address: <ext>@<call manager ip> Password: <random> Advanced: Use for telephone numbers: <unchecked> Username: <call manager end user name> Transport: Auto Outbound Proxy: <call manager ip> Port: 5060 Discover Public Address: <ticked> Loose Routing: <blank> Keep Alive mech: <auto> Keep Alive period: <auto> Auto-detect STUN: <ticked> CUCM 7.1.2 End user already was present - reused *other call manager settings as standard, but I did select media termination point* The phone does not register whatsoever. Any ideas what I am missing? |
Re: N900 SIP Phone on Cisco CUCM
I am able to setup the phone as per the provided instructions in CUCM 8.03 and it registers fine.
However I ran into a problem - outgoing calls work but incoming calls to the n900 don't. The phone rings but when you answer it immediately hangs up. I have tried setting up the phone as basic and as advanced third party sip phone in the call manager and changing the transport to UDP to no avail. Any help would be appreciated. My e61i and e71 were able to do this just fine so I know it is not the cisco infrastructure - it is a problem with the phone. |

I have tried to register N900 with CUCM 7.1 but nothing happen. The client is not signed in. DO I need to something on Aruba Controller? |
