NETCAT - has anybody ported it to the N900?
 

Does anybody know if there is a port of netcat to the N900? I can't find it in the regular repos...

Besides making network tests, netcat is a fast and handy way to transfer files from the network.

Yes. netcat is in the tools repository and socat (a related utility) is in extras-devel.

Ah. In the back of my mind I knew i was missing something. I've read someone mentioning some "tools repository" but didn't think more about it. The weird thing is that it is enabled on my scratchbox.and I didn't even think of enabling it in my N900. :o

I was looking in extras devel, testing, even in cssu repository but no luck >:

Nmap package includes netcat binary(enhanced one).

i think you'll love it.
