(Request) Auto-silent-profile when phone facing down
hey,
i just had an idea, that would it be possible to set the phone to an automatic silenced-profile, when the phone is facing down on your nightstand? cause the phone notices, when it's facing down when you use the silence-action then recieving a call.. so could it be possible to do this kinda daemon, cause it would be great to auto-silence it from any calls while sleeping.. |

It should be possible by using the proximity sensor.

During a boring meeting some time ago I created the attached script. Feel free to use it any way you like.
It sets the profile to silence when the phone is face down on a flat surface and then back to the initial profile. just untar it and run with python. Maybe someone can turn it into a package. It uses both proximity sensor and accelerometers. |

I can confirm it. When the N900 lays on the back on the table, you can turn off the tone for incommings with turn around 180°, so on its face. :)
If it is on the face, you have to turn it 360°. It just disabled the call tone one time. the next call is normal. It's the same behaviour as tapping the mute button on the screen while incomming call. |
