Help with this error, please.
Hi all,
This is an extract of the demesg of my N900 when the error happens: ____________________________ slide (GPIO 71) is now closed [ 291.828216] slide (GPIO 71) is now open [ 294.021911] twl4030_keypad twl4030_keypad: Spurious key event 3-4 [ 294.137176] twl4030_keypad twl4030_keypad: Spurious key event 3-4 [ 326.030242] twl4030_keypad twl4030_keypad: Spurious key event 3-4 [ 326.162658] twl4030_keypad twl4030_keypad: Spurious key event 3-4 [ 326.817047] NET: Registered protocol family 10 [ 326.819610] lo: Disabled Privacy Extensions [ 441.574829] twl4030_keypad twl4030_keypad: Spurious key event 3-4 [ 441.722290] twl4030_keypad twl4030_keypad: Spurious key event 3-4 [ 448.901275] slide (GPIO 71) is now closed [ 578.961181] musb_hdrc periph: enabled ep1in for bulk IN, maxpacket 64 [ 578.961242] musb_hdrc periph: enabled ep1out for bulk OUT, maxpacket 64 [ 578.961273] g_file_storage gadget: full speed config #1 [ 747.125122] slide (GPIO 71) is now open [ 749.506195] twl4030_keypad twl4030_keypad: Spurious key event 3-4 [ 749.682586] twl4030_keypad twl4030_keypad: Spurious key event 3-4 [ 775.046020] twl4030_keypad twl4030_keypad: Spurious key event 3-4 [ 775.174346] twl4030_keypad twl4030_keypad: Spurious key event 3-4 [ 791.492156] slide (GPIO 71) is now closed [ 801.296844] kb_lock (GPIO 113) is now closed __________________________________ It often happens when the device is connected to power cable and it means that lots of spurious key-presses happen spontaneously. If I have a text field opened it will translate often in lots of "t"s being captured. It will happen when I'm browsing and will change the url to ttttt, or it will try to open my contacts and find somebody starting with "tt", or will try to phone "tt"; if I am in the middle of an Xtem session it will mess up my entries, no matter if the hardware keyboard is opened or closed. It is difficult to video it as I don't have a good extra camera that I can hold steady while using the N900 at the same time and it would take a while to capture as sometimes it happens a lot and some other times it doesn't. Difficult to capture "live" action with just screen grabs, also because it is unpredictable. Also pressing the letter "t" on the harware keyboard does nothing. No reaction. Now pressing "e" gives me "et" or "e5" if I longpress. Go figure! I think it is related to power issues. Something melted inside? Please help! Regards, Wovens |
Re: Help with this error, please.
reads like your H/W keyboard is broken... go see a Nokia Care Center!

Re: Help with this error, please.
i think that your hardware keyboard is screwed.
but before you give it to a nokia service point i would flash the emmc and fiasco. if its a software issue it will definetly work. if it dont works you will know that its a hardware issue and you have to go to nokia. and btw: flashing will not crush your warranty. if you dont know how to flash check the wiki out- http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_firmware |
