It often happens when the device is connected to power cable and it means that lots of spurious key-presses happen spontaneously.

If I have a text field opened it will translate often in lots of "t"s being captured.

It will happen when I'm browsing and will change the url to ttttt, or it will try to open my contacts and find somebody starting with "tt", or will try to phone "tt"; if I am in the middle of an Xtem session it will mess up my entries, no matter if the hardware keyboard is opened or closed.

It is difficult to video it as I don't have a good extra camera that I can hold steady while using the N900 at the same time and it would take a while to capture as sometimes it happens a lot and some other times it doesn't. Difficult to capture "live" action with just screen grabs, also because it is unpredictable.

Also pressing the letter "t" on the harware keyboard does nothing. No reaction. Now pressing "e" gives me "et" or "e5" if I longpress. Go figure!

I think it is related to power issues. Something melted inside?

Please help!

Regards,

Wovens

reads like your H/W keyboard is broken... go see a Nokia Care Center!

i think that your hardware keyboard is screwed.
but before you give it to a nokia service point i would flash the emmc and fiasco.
if its a software issue it will definetly work.
if it dont works you will know that its a hardware issue and you have to go to nokia.
and btw:
flashing will not crush your warranty.
if you dont know how to flash check the wiki out-

Thanks and I already flashed many times in the vain hope that it cures all ill. No such luck. I'm not afraid of voiding warranty. I don't think I have any as it is a second-hand ebay item.

You should still be fine sending it to a Nokia Care Centre place to get it fixed.
