[REQUEST] CPU Desktop Temperature Widget
Hi all,
Does anyone know if this exists somewhere and if not, anyone want to have a go. Is there a desktop widget that will show the optimal CPU temperature and current temperature, perhaps something like the below: Optimal : 34 / Current / 98 Or perhaps a coloured bar, green bar for the optimal and temp above it, then merging into Orange and red for very hot. Thanks Colm |
Re: [REQUEST] CPU Desktop Temperature Widget
As far as I know, there is no CPU temperature sensor in the N900, only a battery temperature sensor. (but anybody please feel free to correct me here)
So any app like this cannot exist. |

This wa you can easily see if its too hot and going to burn through your juice |

See this thread, where this is very clearly stated: Mainly its due to that the n900 doesn't have a sensor for the processor itself but the battery. http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=812452 |

However perhaps this is even better as my aim on this was to make sure the battery does not get too hot or too cold so that it lasts longer. So with this in mind, is there a batter temp meter |
Re: [REQUEST] CPU Desktop Temperature Widget
easiest is Desktop Command Execution Widget. More customizable is Queen Beecon Widget.

Re: [REQUEST] CPU Desktop Temperature Widget
Battery will get hotter not due to overclocking but due to how much current is being pulled off it. Obviously, with overclocking, CPU uses more power and hence it will pull more current than stock when in load. But this doesn't necessarily mean that the battery will be cooler with a non-overclocked N900 at load. So it's quite inaccurate to base your phone's stability or instability by that temperature.
Unfortunately, there is no CPU core temp sensor. So just forget about trying to measure the temperature as the value you see won't be that much useful to you to base anything with. |
