Re: Lost the N810 original case
The Proporta alu-leather case is a good compromise -- full access to screen, controls, doesn't cover the speaker etc - easy to pop in or out, still (barely) fits in your pocket. And the flap that...

Re: Flash Player GUI Front End for N8xx?
Same problem, navigating to my external card, drilling down through the directory structure etc...then coping with mplayer's power drain and sometimes wonky behavior. Ditto for using bookmarks in the...

Flash Player GUI Front End for N8xx?
I'm starting to accumulate flash games on the tablet, for those offline moments. Each time I want to play a flash file, game or otherwise, I need to navigate to the file via file manager and click to...

Re: N800 Stylus Scratching Screen
Most definitely, that buys a lot of peace of mind! But don't cheese out to save a few bucks, Boxwave product ($12.95) is far superior to those shown on the page you linked. A bit fussy to install,...

Re: N800 Stylus Scratching Screen
The "factory provided" screen cover actually isn't a screen cover at all, just a cheesy piece of "shrink wrap" like you peel off of many things these days. Get a real screen protector, like the...

Re: Speed Up VNC? Video File Types?
Thanks for the info, that makes sense...jpegs display even better on the tablet than on my PC, with its high res Sony monitor, the colors are more natural. Also VNC turns out to be a nice work around...

Speed Up VNC? Video File Types?
I've got VNC up and running on my N800 (pre-Diablo OS2008) - excellent Client port, what a treat to be able to put my desktop through its paces from the back porch.
Couple of quick questions:

Re: Possible Risk Clone Port?
While waiting for the hopeful Risk clone, I came across a neat work-around. I've been playing Domination, Yura's Java version of Risk (installed on XP box), a nice job with extra maps and card sets...

Re: Eighty One mysteriously died
I assume you mean run command from xterm - I know a bit of unix, but linux is a foreign tongue - what would the run command resemble, given that the app is in "extras" folder? I can get to the $...

Eighty One mysteriously died
EightyOne was one of my favorite games for the N800 tablet (OS2008, pre diablo), played it a bunch, but recently when I tried to start it I got the loading message but no game. I tried uninstalling...

Re: Note taking on the N800
Snoshrk - could you be more specific? Sourceforge download page for notecase has no notecase files labeled for any Nokia tablet model, in version 1.9.1 or 1.8.8 at least. What is the actual file name...

Re: Optimize forum page for tablet use
Thanks for the tip, grog. I never noticed that little drop down menu box for skins. That solves the search problem nicely. But the mobile skins have the same itty bitty little numbers to advance...

I dearly love my little n800 (os 2008). My wife thinks I should marry it. But ironically, one of the hardest things to do with it is to read and search this forum. Kudos to the forum gang, this is...
