just a thought but any programmers out there try to get Hava to release atleast the GPL portions of the Nokia N8x0 client. I mean it;s linux afterall and maybe a way to make a general purpose linux...

i didn;t bother since I do have it working via the unique ID. atleast this is not a show stopper for me.

what are your firewall settings? as far as I can figure, my hava box is never going out...

what;s strange is that the original beta worked really well for me. granted, it streamed the video at full speed and drained my battery in 2 hours or less. the battery message was annoying too.

the reason you might see little change in the resolution from HD to analog is because you are kind of limited by the connection throughput and the fact that the connection to your Hava is "remote"...

i've had my HAVA box plugged in 24x7x365 since I got it earlier this year and haven;t had any issues yet.

I;ll check the voltage ratings when I get a chance.

if you have linksys routers that can support it, i'd highly recommend flashing the firmware to DD-WRT. it's linux based and rock solid. definitely several levels better than the stock firmware. it...

another thing that can;t be ignored since the Hava/N800 uses a remote connection even if it is local is what quality your routers on both ends are.

I used to use stock Linksys firmware on a WRT54G...

as far as I can figure, the Hava/N800 connection is a remote connection hence you bump into the 1 remote connection limit. your N800 is going out over the internet and contacting their P2P server. ...

as for feedback on the Nokia Hava Beta, it works pretty well. I am pleased with the quality of the picture and sound. the quality is much better than say flash videos on youtube.

I agree, a web interface would have made alot of sense. their config wizard is rather "quirky".

i think you will have best chances with a pure windows xp installation, atleast for configuring it....
