Re: PIM application
The GVM is highly unstable, will crash when the datebook alarm goes off and, after recovering from the crash, will delete all your PIM data. It is not usable if you need to rely on your PIM apps.

Re: [Palm OS] Garnet VM - Alarms in PIM
That's not been my experience. Having an alarm go off in a PalmOS app causing the VM to not only crash, but become corrupted is not my definition of a "stable environment."
Not that it doesn't...

Re: Best Mobile PIM ever?
Not the version that I tried on my Zaurus.
I've never seen this. Every version that I tried worked like it was on a desktop system - and had all the screen real estate of a desktop system.

Re: Best Mobile PIM ever?
KOrganizer wasn't meant for a PDA and works very poorly on it. I have a Zaurus SL-C760 and KOrg was extremely cumbersome to use.

Re: Best Mobile PIM ever?
Because it doesn't work. The VM is very unstable and blows up, taking all your apps and data with it, when an alarm goes off.

Re: Best Mobile PIM ever?
For me, the Palm TX is still #1.
I tried to make the N810 replace it, but ended up going back to the Palm TX.

Re: Calendar?
That will depend on your definition of "good calendar".
There are at least 2 calendar apps for the tablets.
I currently use GPE calendar and I use my N810 as a PDA. While it works, it does not...

Re: Do IT's have their nicknames?
My N800 is Kaoru and my N810 is Hikaru.
All devices in my home that are on the network get Anime girl names (easier to remember than 192.168.1.??).

Re: Which Linux flavor for my old desktop PC?
Last year, I would get old, scrapped PCs from a recycler, put a larger (but still recycled) hard drive in them and load Mandriva Linux 2006 on them. They preformed just fine. Nothing screamingly...

Re: gpe todo syncing
You can use gpesyncd to export the ToDos into a ical format. Then you can import that into your local ToDo program. I've done that with KOrganizer successfully.
You can also use gpesyncd to...

Re: Alarms working?
Once, when changing the alarm in Prefs, the VM crashed. Subsequent changing did not cause it to crash, though.
However, every time the datebook alarm "went off", the VM would crash.

Re: Access Releases Garnet VM Beta 2
Has anyone gotten alarms to work in the Datebook?
As a test, I set an alarm and when the time came for the alarm to go off, Datebook simply crashed and exited.

It has to do with how eBooks are formatted.
PDF files, for example, are electronic versions of print works. They are formatted for a specific paper size. If you are trying to read a PDF on...

You are running on the assumption that the books you want will
1) be available for the Kindle
2) be readable on the Kindle
Those assumptions are unproven.

You're mistaken if you think that these devices offer "desktop-quality browsing".
eInk display technology is very slow. But it's clear in daylight and uses no power to maintain the image.
It's...
