Re: How does this scam work?
Interesting.
So I take it this is differnet (a money order) to what I had.
I literally went to a shop with a Western Union logo and gave them a reference number, proof of identity and they just...

Re: HTC touch HD
I'm gearing up for the purchase. as soon as it hits the UK shelves (without stupid markups).
Sold the N810. Next is the N82. That + a few extra notes should cover it.
I'll report back my...

Re: How does this scam work?
Yep,
Scam. Nothing wrong with Western Union by the way (apart from the fees). I've sold some stuff on eBay and someone from outside the UK wanted me to ship to them (even though I said UK only).

Re: Benq S6 - Atom based MID
Don't any of you guys believe in a spare battery ?
That's something I'm really impressed with on the N810. Lovely slim battery. Can carry a spare in my wallet no problem.
I've been checking out...

Re: HTC touch HD
Wow, that looks very interesting. Decent camara, shame there is no flash on there. Other than that, might be tempting to go back to a single device again.
Does it have a "Hard" Touch Screen Suface...

Re: Dr. Ari Jaaksi on Maemo 5
Good topic, interesting reading. Try to keep it friendly :)
I have to agree with some of the comments about it being a little hardware focused. Something that is already a strong point (video...

Re: Swype - text input from the T9 people
A free old version of shapewriter called SHARK has been around for some years and was a big hit according to the Tablet PC sites.
When I finally got a Tablet PC, IBM got rid of it and went...

Re: Whither the revolution?
Personally I disagree. It might have been "right" for some. But as I recall, 3rd party apps that added more complex functionality was all the rage. There was at least two competing "Power" apps for...

You keep teasing Texrat. How about at least some sort of timeframe as to when we might start seeing the fruits of these hidden labours ?
Pretty Please...

Re: Any news on N810 successor?
Not sure about the Tablets, but with Phones Nokia tend to announce things an absolute age before you can actually buy one.
Based on that, it could be a fair while before you see a new one.

Re: Whither the revolution?
I prefer to sit back relax enjoy and continue to complain and moan from time to time.
After all, if we don't, Nokia might think everything is perfect and stop trying. I'm sure at least part of...

Re: Whither the revolution?
Sounds promising. Feedback appreciated...
Anyway, I don't think I'll be abandoning the N810 any time soon. I've still got 2.5 years of Wayfinder subscription to get through.

Re: Whither the revolution?
I already have a 3G contract with my N82 and it work fine with the N810.
I don't think anyone would have a problem with there being a 3G chip onboard (other than effect on batterylife and cost)...

Re: Whither the revolution?
Sorry, not intended to put anyone down. Comment does exaggerate at little.
Just feels like the wheels at Nokia turn a little too slowly with not enough resource (for the N8xx anyway). Perhaps...

Re: Whither the revolution?
It's only an example (if only it was real). But I don't see any reason why Nokia could not do something for a wide range of their phones. I think most these days are based on a couple of standard...

Re: Whither the revolution?
If Nokia expected the Community to do it's work for it then I think they lost the plot. The community should be adding to the efforts of Nokia not instead of.
Failing that, a great deal more...

I just find it frustrating that Nokia Can't be bothered (that's how it looks from here) to just throw a resonable level of resources at developing the software that would make the N8xx fantastic for...
