Yeah , the video quality is far better from gizmo5 and I tried before aMSN but the tablet it's way too weak to run it smoothly.

The better way its by using EKIGA account on the osso accounts to a PC with Ekiga.
The only thing I was setting up a tablet for a friend and the repositories are a MESS!! like RTCOMM didn'd install...

It's fine, I have a softphone on a PC, so I can do video calls from a N800 to a PC.

Question Pidgin 2.6 made too many icons!

This was weird, after installing made too many icons.
In the panel option you can't delete icons.
I have MC filemanager but I can't find they icons are to delete them.

ok, a phone with keyboard without the three most used messengers, the prepaid phones have yahoo and they don't bother to push for a client.
Nokia should have basic software for messaging that works...

Contacts problem, Email adds every sender as contact.

I'm usiing maemo diablo, the email works find, but everytime I sent an email it will be added to my contacts automatically , always I sent resumes for jobs, so I get too many people in my contacts.

That's the server for china, I'm still getting the same problem.
In the pidgin webpage it's explained how to do this, but the solution it's to upgrade to the next version of pidgin or, like me use...

The rtcomm package uses libpurple, but, pidgin hangs and it's a mess.
Saolution for now.
Fring.
Yahoo works ok in fring, just the inerface sucks to manage new buddies,icons,etc.
