It would probably help a great deal to let people to know at what point does it reboot? Does it get through the blue bar? Does it get into the OS then reboot? etc.

I'd be as specific as possible.

You need:
osso-Xterm
becomeroot
unzip
tar (but this might be installed by default)

Install Xterm, become root, and unzip from the application manager (you need to add the right repositories)....

Earlier today running
# apt-get -d install tar

gave me a 404 not found with an IP address (mameo.org) that I had no problems pinging with my laptop. I think someone has monkeyed with the files...

The instructions are pretty clear that mbcache.ko is only for the n800.

check your repository lists to make sure they're correct- i used the same command a few hours ago and it worked.

I think I found a different (and possibly easier way) - inject the list into a settings backup archive and when you restore that part the info gets put back in place- haven't tested it yet, though.

There's a windows flasher out there. However the linux flashers are much more robust (from what I understand) and can be ran from live CDs.

This FAQ is not so much me answering people's questions but more of me answering the questions i've had- and putting those answers for others to see. If you find the answer i'd be happy to add it.

how big(in general) is the actual uncompressed OS on the card itself?

Im guessing that space +100 MB should be more than anyone would ever really need otside of massive amounts of maps or games.s.

You have to also enable the graph plug in in the status bar tab of navigation (also found in the control panel).
