That is where you are wrong. Android and iOS are the two largest (Symbian is in fact still larger than iOS, but this will presumably change next Q). You are mixing stuff here. You are talking like an executive, thinking like an executive, not as a consumer. You have completely been brainwashed to think exactly like Apple and Google want you to think: Android/Apple is the only thing "worth" having because our "success" is "your" success.

Toyota and VW are dominating family cars. Does this mean we (an average family) don't have other choices? Far from it. Porsche is small, does that mean that Porsche is dead? no. Do you buy a BMW because you want BMW to "succeed" ? no. You buy a BMW because it is a joy to drive and because it looks cool and maybe because it gives you a bit status.

Your other choices are: Symbian, Bada, WP, RIM, the N9. There are loads of dumb phones. In fact dumb phones are starting to become fashion. The simple but robust "off road" phones are skyrocketing on the charts because they are practical and because they are suddenly becoming the new fashion. Just wait, it will happen in the US as well.

I mean, get the phone YOU want, there are tons of choices. YOU decides what phone you want, not Apple or Google.
