here guys this is a solution i found and it seems to work 100%(hopefully) i tried the above procedure didn work but this one did the trick so hopefully it helps ..

open X Terminal and type the following:

sudo gainroot (requires rootsh package)

rm /var/lib/dpkg/info/catblock.prerm

rm /var/lib/dpkg/info/catblock.*inst

apt-get purge catblock

thats it ....Good Luck!!!!
