I can see your point, although I'm not convinced that the reduced size will produce any significant benefits in terms of device form factor. There is also the matter of switching the SIM between your new phone and an existing one that doesn't support MicroSIM. Sure, you can use an adaptor, but it's an annoyance that serves little or no purpose.

MicroSIM could be the new widely adopted standard. Or it could be the new BTX.
