Relax man
You have a few options here...
- install leafpad, then you type in X-terminal
sudo gainroot (enter)
leafpad /usr/share/hildon-desktop/transitions.ini (enter)
Leafpad will open and you can change the file

- install Filebox and in settings enable root acces
navigate to /usr/share/hildon-desktop
longpress on transitions.ini and choose edit

now on the transitions.ini file
change [launcher_in]
............duration = 250 change it to 600 or 1000 or whatever
............sequenced = 0 change it to 1
and change also
............[launcher_in_sub]
............duration = 250 change it to 600 or 1000......
............sequenced = 0 change it to 1

save, close file and it"ll be OK

But first back up your transitions.ini just in case if you would mess things up
