Sort of, they used to be separate companies but Wayfinder bought Navicore earlier this year.

I bought the navigator kit a couple of months ago for my 770 and id like to know if i can transfer the licence to my N800 with OS 2008. I tried it when my N800 had OS 2007 and i got a message saying "Licence Already In Use".

You can definitely transfer the licence to either Navicore on N800 OS2007 or Wayfinder "Map" on N800/N810 OS2008, you just need to deactivate the "in use" instance using navicore on the 770 first.
