Hm, regarding the virtual keyboard support for GTK+ apps, it should come down to "just" installing that Maliit GTK+ IM module, updating the GTK+ IM module cache and exporting "GTK_IM_MODULE=meego-im" (for the old GTK+ IM module that is compatible with Harmattan MeeGo 1.2).

To get the compatible sources, it might be best to just extract the sources from the source RPMs here: http://download.meego.com/live/home:...2_testing/src/ Then look at how the GTK+ IM module was actually packaged for MeeGo 1.2 and port the RPM stuff to .deb again. Install the (hopefully correctly built) .deb on your N9[50] and perhaps virtual keyboard support for GTK+ apps will then just work. At least we got it working on MeeGo 1.2 proper, on Ubuntu and on Fedora. So why not the N9? ;-)
