Have you tried another player?

The built in Media Player isn't bad, but it's almost as quirky as Sony stuff...

I'm half hoping someone ports TCPMP to the NIT platform...
It was ugly but it really worked!
Either that or VLC... which is also ugly-but-works (Would need some optimization 'tho; VLC is not particularly efficient...)
