If your access to imap has stopped working it sounds very much like the problem I encountered. Instead of using imap.mail.ovi.com try using one of the servers closest to your location.
e.g. for me it was the mail server in Singapore: 106.10.145.43 or imap-nokia.mail.vip.sg3.yahoo.com

I also had to do the same to be able to send mail (smtp) again.
