You know, you could have been diplomatic (and more universally accurate) and said you "switched" to an iPod touch rather than "upgraded," but I'll respond nonetheless.

Yes, that's the current OS.

Look for AGPS or A-GPS in my first Newbie link. And there's a tutorial on current Maemo-Mapper.

Use the link to Google Android, too; I don't follow it.
