I don't know what your particular issues are, but this is linux. You have just about full control of your linking and/or the environment you're program runs in. Sure, we don't want to thrash on memory by everyone linking or pointing to their own version of a common library, but that and drive space should be your only constraints for having a successful install. Your program running smoothly is a different matter...
