Hello, I've purchased this warranty for a Nokia N900 phone which is still on pre order with Amazon. I do not know when the order will be fulfilled, or if it will be fulfilled. Will this warranty start from the day I ordered it or from the day I receive the item? Furthermore, if I end up purchasing the item from another retailer instead of Amazon, will this warranty still be good for it? Thank you very much.
Dear Davide, I can understand your concerns. Our warranties begin on the date of purchase of your item. Your warranty currently shows an item purchase date of 10/17/2009. For items pre-ordered before their actual release and shipment you should use the purchase/charge date as listed on the packing/shipping invoice included when your received your item. In our experience most businesses charge for backordered and pre-release items only at the time of actual shipment. The invoice should show the date of purchase/shipment, item description and purchase price. Once you receive your item, you can contact us and let us know the actual purchase date that is shown on your invoice. We will then update your warranty to begin on that date. If you do not receive your item we can easily cancel the warranty and refund you in full for the warranty purchase price. If you purchase a different phone from a different retailer, you can then simply purchase a new warranty based upon the applicable information for the new phone. If have any remaining concerns you're welcome to contact us directly. We'd be happy to discuss them with you. You can reply to this email or call 1-800-649-5307 weekdays between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. Pacific Time. Thank you, Mark SquareTrade Care Plan Claims Specialist re: Ticket [#0000509610]
