That grainy look isn't from the actual LCD (Which is a great LCD) it is from the plastic top-coat that is meant to give the LCD the feel of paper under the stylus. The effect you are seeing is the plastic layer acting like water on a TV (magnifying the pixels in odd ways)
Some aftermarket LCD protective add-ons do the same thing.

I do not know if you can remove it without leaving adhesive behind.
Some people have said that RainX will help with the feel of the screen, but I don't know if it will clear up the texture any.
