Are you? It sounds more like a rather extensive misunderstanding of what open source is and how it functions.

because i know for sure Nokia can pick up and any code whatsoever written for the community and establish it within their own coding for their own devices which WILL have a Nokia copyright attatched to it!
Only for their bits. Please go read and try to grasp the GPLv2, which is what covers much of Maemo and MeeGo.

my point is still standing, Nokia are benifiting from this community more than you realise, they see everything everyone comes up with for free so all the great idea's everyone is putting forward can easily be gobbled up by Nokia at any time.
Not without a cost.

What is nokia doing for end user thats so good if all you got are people ranting and raving on here for many reasons at Nokia?.
Because they expected an App store and didn't get it is my guess.

There are loopholes. Go look at Tivo, and the proposed DRM mode of future devices. That's why the GPLv3 was written (and why avoiding it is going to be par for the course for MeeGo.)

Simple, they gave me awesome hardware to work with and didn't lock it down to the point of unusability. That's actually extremely unusual in the mobile industry.
