My main problem with Apple vs Flash debacle is that Jobs is making use of his control over the iOS platform to censor what's in/out of his ecosystem. Good thing that this time it's somewhat in alignment with our interests. But I would still prefer if a new standard dukes it out with Flash in a free market and wins it on its own merit.

With iPhone/iPad's marketshare and demonstrated buying power, there's no need for them to 'complain' to websites..
It make me sad that you so often using Close Standard regarding to Flash as equal to Apple practice. There is Huge difference.

Action Script is open - industry standard language
Flex SDK - is open source
Tools - there is many different way to develop flash content for free
Flash Player - is closed but free of charge for users. The restrictions are ONLY for distributors

How does it affect customer?

Ok let's put this that way

Action Script Maemo is open - source OS
Flex SDK - QT is open source
Tools - there is many different way to develop flash Maemo content for free
Flash Player Device/Hardware - is closed but free of charge you need to buy it for users. The restrictions are ONLY for distributors

Using this scheme put Apple product here

Ok I'll try

Language is open- industry standard but you have to stick to Apple rules. Cross compilers are not welcome.
SDK - is Closed source and you have to pay a fee to get into this world.
Tools - there is ONLY one way to develop content, Apple way non-free
Device - Device/Hardware - is closed
