If by app you mean the LXDE desktop, locate the files that are executed upon starting LXDE.

ok so if I already have a mysql startup scripts in free debian...actually 2, I have the sym link in /etc/rc2.d and the actual script in /etc/init.d....

I am from within in maemo, to recreate both of those scripts and type debbie scriptname? and then debian will be aware of those scripts?
