Normally e-mail does not go through a proxy anyway, but it may not hurt to disable it and see if it works then?

(you said you tried with your SIM on another phone and it worked OK, possibly without configuring any proxy..)
I tried disablng proxies and it doesn't even allow me to browse or do anything. it just show 3G is connected
