Another idea, is it possible to use the front camera to learn the IR-code's?? That's a lot easier, no extra hardware required, just somebody who write a program for it....... anybody?????

The 2.5mm jack supports a microphone, I wonder if it would be possible to hook up an IR LED in a detector configuration to the microphone pins, and parse the sound that comes in?
