We would need an application for that. Should certainly be possible. If someone could dig up specs I might even have a go at writing an application myself, or port/develop something already in existence.
My Palm T3 comes with such an application (that's why I know it's possible), it uses bluetooth to send and receive SMS messages to/from my BT phone. Unfortunately it wasn't useful in the end, because the message would be cut short after the first non-US-ascii letter in the message (I'm in ISO-8859-1 land). And Palm's app. is closed and couldn't be fixed by anyone but Palm, and they didn't bother.. which was actually one of the reasons I sat up and took notice when the rumours started to build about Nokia's new Linux-based internet tablet.

I have since bought a screen protector from Boxwave and it works much better. No scratches at all (the original was covered with vertical scratches from scrolling with the stylus) and just the lightest touch registers. I would only use the cover that comes with it as a temp until you can get a proper one.
