Ok,
attached to this post you can find the debian/ dir I've used to create my .deb file for Maemo 4.0 (Chinook).
I do have (at least for a while) either a 770 and an n800 (the n810 is on his way to my house) so I could make it too.
Let me know.

Hi,
could you in your spare time port IM to OS2006 and OS2007
to let group work and exchange of interesting IM shell scripts between users of older machines too ?
Or IM is not fit for OS2006 and OS2007 ?

Sure you could, but I don't think it would be fair.
It's just a port and these things ought to be free.
