FWIW, I did have her use the Millhouse scripts (nupgrade.sh) and the clone all seemed to go well (as evidenced by able to boot if external SD card is removed). This flasher error came after copying over a bootmenu.conf file to fix the N810 MMC naming bug and then needing to rerun the initfs_flasher.

So @ Bonaojn - so sorry that you're still having troubles but hopefully it was just something wrong with the flasher download.

I would suggest trying the following again from Pronuke's instructions (although I've made a addition shown in red):

Download the flasher application from here and save to "Documents"

http://fanoush.wz.cz/maemo/initfs_flasher.tgz
Install the flasher application to create a boot menu

# cd /home/user/MyDocs/.documents/
# tar zxvf initfs_flasher.tgz (check location of Tar first)
# cp path/to/your/bootmenu.conf /home/user/initfs_flasher/
# cd initfs_flasher/
# ./initfs_flash

Where the path to the bootmenu.conf would be something like "/media/mmc1/bootmenu.conf " if you just put it in the root directory of your external SD card. The internal SD card is /media/mmc2/

Hope this gets ya going
it will not allow me to execute the command in red, i have it placed in my external card:
cp /media/mmc1/bootmenu.conf /home/user/initfs_flasher/

and it says
cp:cannot stat 'cp /media/mmc1/bootmenu.conf': No Such File or Directory

what to do?

How did you make the bootmenu.conf file? Maybe I should just email you a copy. You need to make sure that the app you used to create the file didn't add anything to the file name like .txt or .doc

if you want, but it is specifically called bootmenu.conf
however i did make it by opening Notes pasting your code and saving it as bootmenu.conf

if you watch at http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=YTNaDp...eature=related

at 3:18 he moves it using that code so couldnt I modify that .conf file and then use that same code to do what he did

If you are using the Tablet Note, you bootmenu.conf becomes bootmenu.conf.html. Note adds an extension .html. to everything.

Use file manager rename the file without .html extension, you will be fine.

Try leafpad, go gronmayer.com/it and search for leadpad and install.

i know, its like I am talking to myself lol
(=p) but im just updating

now I am really confused on what is happening here
i was able to move the bootmenu.conf file ( and i know i was able to do so because it completely changed like it now says "internal Flash" , etc etc)
however when i choose internal card booting it still fails
i did run ./initfs_flash

so then i realized i hadnt finished the process
so now I am running this (went back to the second part of #4 @ http://www.thisweekinnuclear.com/KDEonN800.html)
# cd /tar-temp/bin/
# cp tar targnu
# ./targnu cf - -C /floppy . | ./targnu xvf - -C /opt

and hopefully it will work
note: i took the html off =] and i got it to work
i tried doing it with leafpad on my first attempt
i only opened leafpad 1 or 2 times
and now i cannot open it, not even from xterm

so yes fingers crossed!
