Right.
When you click on "http://repository.maemo.org/extras/", the install file points right to http://repository.maemo.org/extras/

The package isn't even copied, only linked to.

A very clever move, btw, considering the fact that they want to push and promote Extras, but still need some kind of extra-extra quality control so that they can say: These are the apps we really recommend for Maemo 5.

Tags etc from pictures works nicely and I can see a lot of potential for this personally.

Hehe I know what the Evernote is. I've been using it for a while. It's great for cooking!

I've been using the mobile page right now on my n800 but ideally with the n900 you could use the regular Evernote page (heavy on javascript I believe which is what kills it on the n800 + Tear). Then you can actually edit, and have more features. Now that the NDA is lifted... anyon wanna try?

I would prefer Zim.

While I love the feature list of Evernote, I don't like its closed approach. I would love to have all those features in an open source app that would give me the option to host on my own server.

I'd be willing to chip in on a bounty for an open/flexible clone of Evernote for Maemo and the Linux desktop.

Seems to work pretty OK. I was able to create a new note etc and browse old stuff. Only thing that bothered me was that the page detects your screen size and keeps that gray toolbar in place. So if you are viewing a picture for instance, you need to use scrollbars on the page and it just feels a bit cramped and not intuitive as I would like. But even so, I think it is working well enough.

It would be nice, wouldn't it? I did try to install some of the appllications on my N810, and it started OK, and finished by saying it couldn't find the package each time.

Does anyone know who wrote eCoach? I'm looking to build an app with map overlays, and something similar to that interface is what I would like to achieve.

eCoach team:
Jukka Alasalmi
Sampo Savola
Kai Skiftesvik
Veli-Pekka Haajanen

taken from:

Of course I don't know if it's still up to date, but worth a try.
There's source code at
https://garage.maemo.org/scm/?group_id=688
(I haven't looked into it though and don't know how complete/up to date it is)

Hey
I am the one developing eCoach...
jsuggs: My implementation for drawing buttons on top of the map is a little hackish but thats because OSM-GPS-MAP didnt support it by the default.
If you want to see more sophisticated solution please see how Till did it with OSM2GO application..
