USB host would be such a killer feature on the N900, shame Nokia didn't include it... Think of the possibilities:

- Plug in your real camera and upload photos you took with it.
- Copy files from a friends disk-on-key without needing a computer.
- Plug in a printer (is it possible?) to quickly print documents you have on your phone.

I honestly don't know if all the above are possible, but if they were, and the next N9xx had them, I'd never consider another phone again.

I've remote-controlled my EOS 350D with s10sh and used 160GB USB HDD with my N800.

The first two are possible and already a reality for devices with USB OTG. Printing would require support from software and (I guess) printer drivers, so it isn't as easy as just plugging the device in.

iirc, there is already a bluetooth printing profile, so some kind of simple printing could be done.

also, there is the pictbridge system, that allows a camera to be hooked up to a printer for handling images.

for known formats, pure text, photos and similar, printing should be possible. Now complex documents, with detailed payouts and such, may be a different story.

Couldn't you just rebuild gutenprint to support the arm architecture?
