I really would not want Android on my N900.
Maemo is just so much better. Besides even if it was done it's never really optimised and it's just a pain to use.

Why should other people that wants Android even care that there is one person like you? Maemo better you say? Sure the OS is more advance, but when it comes down to it all Android is easier to use and has loads more applications.

The one thing I liked the least about your post was your last sentence, first of your grammar removes the meaning of it, and second no your wrong. At 600mhz dj_steve said it felt like maemo clocked to 900mhz and thats without the video optimization.

I want it on there, just like I want Windows on my Mac. I like to use it sometimes. I like to tinker with it and make it work just so. There are things that I can do better in one than the other.

When I saw Android running on the iPhone, for a moment I wondered if I had bought the wrong phone. But all I really envy about the iPhone is the number of apps.

I've been following the Android port threads and was just wondering if any of the devs had looked at the Nook version of Android? Since it lives on the SD card, maybe it would be a better fit for dual-booting?

I don't really miss my G1 but I did buy a lot of apps that would be nice to re-use on my N900. As long as wifi and the touchscreen worked, I'd be happy. I could just reboot when I wanted to use one of the Android apps. (Of course, the N900 isn't my main phone - I know it isn't really a solution for most people.)
