Hi,

I have a Nokia 770 with OS 2006 Version 3.2006.49-2. I purchased a MMC Mobile 2GB (Kingston). Unfortunately my 770 seems unable to properly recognize this card. When I put it inside I get a message saying the memory is corrupted or not formatted. When I try to format it in the 770 it fails. The same memory works fine in my Dell PC. The PC recognizes it and I can read/write from it. The 770 has no problems reading/writing the 64 MB MMC that came with it.

I would appreciate any suggestion. Thank you.

That OS should support the card. I have the same card and OS and my 770 has no problem with it.

I am not an expert, but I would probably reflash the OS and see what happens.

I have the same N770 configuration and yesterday put in a new Kingston 2GB Mobile MMC card. It worked perfectly on first insert, I did not have to format the card to use it.

However, I remember reading somewhere to try inserting the card without pushing it all the way in until it clicks. Just push it in far enough to allow you to close the little door. I did not need to do this, but it would be worth trying.

Don.

Did you bought your card from ebay (hong kong or china based dealer) ?

Almost all Kingston 2Gig RS-MMC mobile card on ebay are fake ... cheap imitation..

I hope this is not your problem.
