Hi there,

its some time ago when I first asked that question:
http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ghlight=pl2303

But since noone was able to answer that question within the troubleshooting-sub-forum I'll try again here. The second reason for re-asking is the new OS I installed some days ago: OS2007HE

I flashed my device to HostMode again and it notices my gps receiver as pl2303 mapped to /dev/ttyUSB0:

Code:

I really want to get that working. I read a little through the forums and some say that the pl2303 has to work right from the start and that almost any usb2serial converter just works fine. I'm wondering why this fails.

I can open the serial port. I can set it to 4800 baud. When I try to cat it to the console I just get nothing. On my laptop it works perfectly with the same commands.

Does anyone has an idea what might be the problem?

Thank you for reading,
Timo

EDIT: Ok, I must add that Ubuntu doesn't know about the stty speed option, so I needed to use minicom to get a working serial output. But anyway, it works under Ubuntu.

ANOTHER EDIT: I downloaded this driver packege but replacing every installed module by the ones under ../usb/serial doesn't help.

So, does minicom work on your 770 then?

Not jet, but I hope to get it working this afternoon.

But I guess, that it won't work eighter, because MaemoMapper cannot read the gps signal. We will see, hopefully
