..i couldn't believe it i only wanted to go online to get a quicker GPS lock .It shouldnt need more than 1kb of 3G -traffic and i only pay 23 euro cent for one megabyte.

However more than 1 Euro was charged from my prepaid card, because the N900 it was looking for software updates. (This takes very long and almost freezes the phone) .

Is there a way to switch off the update notifyer?

Thanks

LQ

I've read the wiki and have changed the value 1440 to 144000 with gconf. That was many days ago.
Still, when I connect to the internet, I get update notifications without me going through the App manager.
Are we sure this change is enough?

Yes almost three months. I want to check for updates manually.
Is there possibly a different behaviour when the connection is cellular data rather than wireless connection? Because now that I notice better, I think I get update notifications when I have wireless internet. I will check better now.
