The app eco for MeeGo however is beyond poor, no disrespect to any developers who are associated with them that linger around here but this is a truth most of us can see eye to eye on. Whatsapp runs on almost all devices; I was startled to see that the developers there have not been bothered with developing a version for the N950.

I will vote AMD for president next time if I'm having any shares during next meeting.

Way to go, dear community! And you're surprised users and developers are fleeing this place.
To the OP: don't waste your time here, and on MeeGo. Documentation for development is chaotic and outdated at best, non-existant at worst. Most of the remainder of the community are rude, elitist pricks, as you can see. Not much of value is left here.

My name is Michael and I'm quite the experienced developer. I have experiences with both windows & linux platform development (windows being my strong spot). I've worked in C#, Java, IronPython, a few mark up languages and a bit of reverse engineering.
Recently a Nokia N950 has been placed into my hands due to the destruction of my beloved blackberry 9700. Perhaps a blessing; this phone seems to be very limitless in its capabilities. I've seen threads about Arch Linux being ran on this bad boy and trust me that gets me excited.
The app eco for MeeGo however is beyond poor, no disrespect to any developers who are associated with them that linger around here but this is a truth most of us can see eye to eye on. Whatsapp runs on almost all devices; I was startled to see that the developers there have not been bothered with developing a version for the N950.
So this leads me to my questions.
Given that I'm unfamiliar with the device and how it works. I like to seek advice (best way to go aint it?) along with reading various posts and articles.
I've seen Ice Cream Sandwich being ran on the N9. Would you guys recommend this? Does the software utilize the hardware efficiently/effectively? Would my device be at risk if I were to load the OS on my device?
How can this be done? (please provide links to articles. Also any alternative methods)
Is anyone running Jelly Bean on the N950? (If this is stable provide information on how this can be done)
One of the main reasons for me wanting to switch is because I NEED whatsapp. Coming from a blackberry the necessity to have contacts at instant is of high priority.
Would changing to android be too much work just for whatsapp? Would I be better of just installing Wazapp?
Is anyone running the official whatsapp client on n950? (I visited the website on my phone moments ago and it's actually allowing me to download the files now.. it didn't do that before).
Well these are all the questions that are of importance to me right now. Hopefully you guys are quite friendly here and wouldn't mind sharing a bit of information with a fellow developer.
Please feel free to share any other tweeks/hacks that you use or suggest any other alternatives!
Looking forward to a lovely discussing with you guys
Michael
