A frustrating problem with the N800: When connected to some APs, *some* sites don't load -- I just get "connecting" with the blue moving bar at the bottom of the screen indefinitely. I have tried this with different APs connected to different Internet connections (DSL modems) on different continents. Irritatingly enough, one of the sites I have trouble connecting to is maemo.org -- I can get to the front page (maemo.org) but not the download pages (maemo.org/download/os2008, for example). If I try to connect through my laptop, which goes through the same AP, I have no problem.
I feel like I read something about this once, but couldn't track it down in the forums if I did (unlike the "power on" problem, which I also have, but we'll save that for another time).
Any help greatly appreciated. I've never hated a device I love so much.

WIFI: browsing is slow (even not possible) ONLY when I visit maemo.org. I noticed that there is no www before maemo.org. is it the reason?
will change internet browser.
the problem is same as this: http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ad.php?t=15262

I am testing USB HUB. I connect a memory stick and a Hard drive to the usb Hub and copy files from memory stick to HD. it works if the files are small, but the file manager freezes and memory stick LED is turned off when the files are big (300M something). In the Terminal, I mounted both of them and used CP to copy files and had same problem: the Terminal itself freezes. My power supply can provide enough juice.
Just wonder if anyone tried this before?
thanks.

0. come here: http://wiki.maemo.org/Category:Users
1. flash N800
do 0, and choose updating tablet firmware and follow the instructions. no sweat here.
2. become root
do 0, click on root access. it is a piece of cake.
3. partition an SD card
do 0, and click on partition a flash card, follow the instructions, but if you see this message which confused me a lot when you try to mount the partitions, use lsmod to check if what you want to install are already active:
insmod: cannot insert '/mnt/initfs/lib/modules/2.6.21-omap1/mbcache.ko': File exists (-1):File Exists.
4. clone OS
go to: http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ighlight=clone, start from step 8, or 6, if you have not partitioned SD yet.
5. USB control
when I tried to install it from Maemo, it shows 'incompatible package'. so
Do 0, click USB host mode, and use echo command to do it
to be continued....
