I am testing USB HUB. I connect a memory stick and a Hard drive to the usb Hub and copy files from memory stick to HD. it works if the files are small, but the file manager freezes and memory stick LED is turned off when the files are big (300M something). In the Terminal, I mounted both of them and used CP to copy files and had same problem: the Terminal itself freezes. My power supply can provide enough juice.
Just wonder if anyone tried this before?
thanks.

8G internal card has 512M dos + 3.0G ext2 for clone os + 3.5G ext2 for easy Debian (just file system, easy-deb-chroot uninstalled) + >512 swap.

with the help of others and my effort to google internet, I solved some confusions. this is my experience.

one thing forgot to say:
I use FREE to check and found there is not much of shared memory available, 19236 if free when all of applications closed, but there is 512M swap free.

I have copied files over 600M (movies) from hard drive to SD via usb hub.
If it stops I just re-coppy the file. I copy file by file. My hub is an ac-powered one.

I do not think there is problem to copy files from HD to SD (internal or external), or from SD to HD. the problem is to copy files between two devices connected to one USB hub.

I connect my N8x0 to the USB HUB and the HD to the HUB.
